Proceeds benefit the New Hanover Garden Club’s community projects.
Art & The Bloom is an art exhibition pairing
the finest floral designers with artwork from the most talented artists in North Carolina and
beyond. Floral designers will create an arrangement based on their interpretation of juried art
pieces. Proceeds from this event are used for gardening related projects in and around New Hanover
County. Projects from previous years’ events proceeds include landscaping several Habitat for
Humanity houses, installing a Blue Star Memorial marker at the Wilmington National
Cemetery, landscaping for two local nonprofits, creating gardens for a breast cancer facility
and hospice, donating fruit trees for a community garden that serves the underserved in
Wilmington, creating a pollinator garden for a local nursing home, creating tray arrangements
for Meals on Wheels and donating to the NHC Arboretum. The club also has ongoing youth
garden projects in local public schools.
