Kayla Hager - Kayla was born and raised in West Virginia and has recently made Wilmington her home. She is 24 years old, loves the beach, and has a strong passion for teaching the performing arts! She began learning music and performing when she was 11 years old and eventually fell in love with sharing and teaching music and the arts to others. After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in English from Marshall University, Kayla decided to branch out and bring her talents to Wilmington. She specializes in teaching voice, dance, music, and acting. With over five years of experience directing her own show choir program, volunteering her vocal coaching and choreography skills to local children's theaters, and giving private lessons.

Leilani Pickett - Leilani is a Wilmington native who grew up ballet dancing at Thalian Hall and surfing at Wrightsville Beach. She is passionate about the arts and particularly enjoys sculpting with wire and seaglass. Leilani lived in Asheville and New York  City before returning to her hometown to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Certification in Professional Writing, and has plans to attend graduate school. Leilani Headshot
Jon Wallin - Jon Wallin was born and raised near Asheville, NC. He holds a BA in Anthropology and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of NC at Wilmington. He is married to Chandler Davis, Artistic Director of Thalian Association Community Theatre, and is an active member of the Wilmington theatre community. In his spare time he writes poetry, plays chess, and thoroughly immerses himself in the care and well-being of his four fluffy cats.

Josh Zieseniss - Originally from Philadelphia, Joshua moved to beautiful Wilmington around 5 years ago. He is currently pursuing a BA in Business at Cape Fear Community College and then plans to transfer to UNC School of the Arts for Production Management. Joshua is also the Resident Stage Manager for the Thalian Association managing up to 5 Main Stage productions a year. When he is not behind the front desk or calling a show you can find him behind a camera or enjoying downtown with friends.

Our Management

The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is managed by the staff of the The Thalian Association, the Official Community Theater of North Carolina.

The Thalian Association is a non-profit, membership organization founded in 1788 to provide arts education and bring the excitement of the performing arts to Wilmington. The organization has its offices and holds auditions at the Community Arts Center.  The Center also hosts the Thalian Children's Theater classes and performances.
