Camp Descriptions (Ages 4-6)

Summer Camp Logo 2016

The Creative Munchkin Series - 9am-Noon (Ages 4-6): Art, movement, and play for our youngest campers. These half-day, week long camps are looking for silly characters to put on a show! Each day will consist of different activities in singing, dancing, crafting, and more based on that week’s theme. Final Showcase every Friday at 11:30am!

Creative Munchkins

Week 1: June 18 – June 22

Jungle Safari- Welcome to the Jungle! This week our campers will transform into their favorite jungle animals. We will make animal masks, sing our favorite jungle tunes, and of course cause some daily monkey mischief!

Week 2: June 25 – June 29

Disney Mania Jr. FULL Campers will work with their favorite Disney songs and characters to learn the fundamentals of singing and dancing! Build confidence and coordination to the tunes of Moana, Frozen, Tangled and more!

Week 3: July 9 – July 13

Muchkins of the Galaxy This fantastical week of camp is for the explorer in all of us. Jump aboard our space craft and let's venture into outer space where we can walk on mars, make space goo, and learn how to lightsaber battle!

Week 4: July 16 – July 20

Silly with Seuss. – Oh the places you'll go with the friends you'll soon know. This week of camp will sure be a silly time with our favorite characters like the Cat in the Hat, Sam I am, and Things One and Two!

Week 5: July 23 – July 27

Under the Sea - FULL Let's hop aboard our submarine and explore the adventures of the Sea through movement, song, and art. What shall we find on our adventure? Mermaids? Nemo? Maybe even a treasure map!?

Week 6: July 30 – August 3

Superheroes Convention – Calling all Superheroes! In this last week of camp, your youngsters will be saving our Port City from the mischievous villains! Our projects this week will include cape and mask making as well as finding our inner super powers! A summer camp favorite!

Our Management

The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is managed by the staff of the The Thalian Association, the Official Community Theater of North Carolina.

The Thalian Association is a non-profit, membership organization founded in 1788 to provide arts education and bring the excitement of the performing arts to Wilmington. The organization has its offices and holds auditions at the Community Arts Center.  The Center also hosts the Thalian Children's Theater classes and performances.
