Location:

The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is located at 120 S. 2nd Street.

WEST FROM RALEIGH & I-95:

Take I-40 east. It merges into US-117 S/NC-132 S/N College Road. Turn right onto US-74 W/Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy towards Downtown Wilmington (4.6 miles.) US-74 W/Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy becomes Cornelius Harnette Drive (.2 miles.) Cornelius Harnette Drive becomes North 3rd Street (.8 miles.) Turn right onto Orange Street.  Then take a left onto 2nd street. The HBHUSO/CAC will be on your left.

 

WEST FROM CHARLOTTE:
Take Highway #421 or Highways #74/#76 west and cross the Cape Fear River onto North 3rd St. Continue to Orange Street. Then take a left onto 2nd street. The HBHUSO/CAC will be on your left.

 

EAST FROM PLEASURE ISLAND:
Take Highway #421 to Downtown Wilmington where it will turn into 3rd St. Continue on 3rd St. until Orange Street, take a right. Then take a left onto 2nd street. The HBHUSO/CAC will be on your left.

 

SOUTH FROM MYRTLE BEACH:
Take Highway #17 North and cross the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge. Turn left on South 3rd St. and continue north until turning left on Orange Street. Then take a left onto 2nd street. The HBHUSO/CAC will be on your left.

Parking:

On Street Parking:
A great deal of on street parking is available all around The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center.  All parking on 3rd street and east of 3rd Street (east is moving away from the river) becomes free after 5pm Monday-Friday and is free all day Saturday and Sunday. All metered parking west of 3rd Street (towards the river) becomes free after 6:30pm Monday-Saturday and is free all day on Sunday.  Metered on street parking is free for patrons with accessible parking plates or hanging tags.

City of Wilmington Parking Decks:

The City of Wilmington owns two parking decks within easy walking distance of The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center.  The city owned parking deck, located at the corner of 2nd and Market Street, which holds 575 cars, it is accessible from either 2nd Street or Market Street. The other one is located directly across the 3rd Street from the City Hall/Thalian Hall building at 114N 2nd Street, which holds 475 cars, it is accessible from either 3rd Street or 2nd Street on the block directly between Princess and Chestnut Streets, however the only exit is out of the 2nd Street entrance.

There is security on site from 9pm until 7am, with City of Wilmington Police patrolling throughout the day. The first 90 minutes are free, the first hour after is $2.00, with a $1.00 per hour charge for each additional hour. An attendant is on duty to accept payment Thursday-Sunday until 2am. Automated payments are with credit/debit cards or cash are always accepted. Both parking decks are equipped with limited ChargePoint vehicle charging stations.

The HBHUSO/CAC is located in beautiful Downtown Wilmington, within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants, hotels and bars. Both Wilmington Downtown, Inc. and the Wilmington and Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau are good resources to help you choose where to stay or dine.
