Rising Stars Series – Full and Half Day Camps (9 AM – 4 PM)
What to Expect:
These week-long camps are perfect for the dramatic and imaginative youngsters! Each week there will be a theme to guide the activities, crafts, scenes, scripts, songs and games for that week of camp. Full day campers will be able to experience two themes in one day for a double dose of fun. Morning camps have a theater arts/performance focus and afternoon camps focus on visual arts. Final Showcase on Fridays for every morning camp!

- Morning or Afternoon only (9am-Noon or 1pm-4pm)—$100/week
Show and Share Friday:
Each Friday there will be a final showcase for family and friends to attend for all of the morning camps. The “show and share” will be a variety of music numbers, dance routines, rehearsed skits/scenes, art exhibits etc. Morning and Afternoon camps will have their own showcase.
Week 1: June 10 – June 14, 2024
Galaxy Far Far Away – 9am-Noon – A long time ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away there were creative young campers that gathered for a week of fantastical fun! This week of camp will have a choreography focus where campers will learn how to stage combat their mortal enemy, Darth Vader!
Galactic Glow Galaxy – 1-4pm – 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 GLOW! We will work to create an outer space galaxy in our room! What will they need to create? Glowing paper mâché planets? Neon shooting stars? Can we tape glow sticks in patterns on the walls to magically illuminate them? Next, we will work to create a space station in the main studio. This will be where our living quarters are when we aren’t out conquering space!
Week 2: June 17 – June 21, 2024
Orange Street Pottery Camp – 9a- Noon –Campers will learn the basics of pottery in this afternoon visual arts camp! All campers will create their very own completed piece of pottery that will be available for pick up 2 weeks after the conclusion of the camp. Supply fee of $10.
Film Camp: LET’S Make a Movie – 1-4pm – Let’s make a movie! This week campers will learn all the basics of filming a short film. We will storyboard our project and then write, act, and film our own short movie! The short film will be featured on the Thalian association Youtube Channel.
Week 3: June 24 – June 28, 2024
Improv 102 – Noon – You will learn some of the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement (“yes and”); active listening, character, status, and making your scene partner look good. Through Improv education, students will achieve personal growth and self-confidence that will help them to excel in other areas. Improv is a great tool to enhance skills in working with others, problem-solving, developing confidence, and a creative style.
ADOPT A PET ART CAMP – 1-4pm – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take care of a giraffe, kangaroo, hippo, or monkey? What kind of bed, food, toys, and equipment would you need? Sparklers will create the ultimate adoption clinic with a variety of animals to adopt. Each camper will create animals to adopt from their clinic and work to build an Adoption Clinic for Zoo Pets!
Week 4: July 8 – July 12, 2024
UNDER THE SEA– 9am- Noon – Journey into the deep blue sea with this ocean-inspired performance camp! Dress up, make fun crafts, enjoy and dance to ocean-inspired music all week long!
Mystery Solvers – 1-4pm – Who did it? That is the question. Join us on a fun week of camp participating in solving different investigations, escaping rooms, creating/solving puzzles, completing scavenger hunts, and so much more! Put those sleuth hats on, grab your notepad and pencil, and let’s solve this mystery!
Week 5: July 15 – July 19, 2024
So, You think you can dance? – 9am- Noon – Whether you dream of being a prima ballerina, famous dancer, or auditioning for a TV show this camp is for you. You will learn how to choreograph dances and perform solo and group numbers. We will teach young dancers to audition and compete with a positive attitude and enjoy the rewards of hard work.
Rock & Roll art camp – 1-4pm – This music inspired art camp is for the musicians in all of us. In this fun and crafty camp, all the art projects will be able to make music in some way. At the end of the week, we will form our Rock and Roll Art Band to create a song using our handmade instruments.
Week 6: July 22 – July 26, 2024
Broadway mania – 9am-Noon – Young performers will spend one week developing acting and singing skills through exercises, character studies and role playing. Plus learn choreography from your favorite musicals like Newsies, Annie; Wicked, Mamma Mia, & more!
Mystery Box Art Camp – 1-4pm – What’s inside the mystery box? What could it be? Every camper will have a box presented to them at the beginning of each day of camp. They will open their box and then brainstorm different ways to embellish, decorate, and create with their items. Will they have rocks they decide to paint and trade? Will they have sketchbooks they create drawings and stories in? Will they have clay and different tools to add texture? Each day will unwrap a new mystery and new projects will be born!
Week 7: July 29 – August 2, 2024
Disney Mania – 9am-Noon – Dance and sing to all your favorite Disney songs, act out your favorite scenes from Disney classics, and learn musical numbers from current Broadway Disney Musicals!
Art Around the World in 5 days – 1-4pm – Students will journey to various destinations around the world as students create art inspired by different cultures. If you like adventure and travel don’t miss out on the trip of a lifetime exploring the different continents through the eyes of art.
Week 8: August 5 – August 9, 2024
Magical Muggles – FULL Day 9am-4pm –This unique immersive experience will be for us creative muggles ready to learn some magic! Step into platform 9 ¾ and travel to Hogwarts where we will make wands, play quidditch, craft potions, and get sorted into Houses. This full day camp will have both a performance and visual art component that is perfect for all skill levels and Harry Potter knowledge. Let the magic begin! $15 Supply Fee
