| Samantha Chappell joined Thalian Association Community Theatre as Community Arts Center Director and Operations Coordinator in 2014 and has loved it ever since. The Thalian Association Community Theatre has managed the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center for the City of Wilmington since 1994.
Sam is a graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Communications/Performance Studies. After graduating she became the Assistant Director of Performance Club Studio Theater, a Wilmington children’s theater company that specializes in theater programs, productions, and camps. Sam also edits youth short films and has been a filmmaker at the Cucalorus Film festival for the past 5 years. Her theater experience also includes three years with the Playmakers Repertory company in Chapel Hill. Aside from theater, Sam worked for an international award-winning children’s website for two years. Sam has been affiliated with the Thalian Association Community Theatre and the Community Arts Center as a volunteer, box office manager, Children’s Theater Director, and stage manager. In her spare time she likes to kayak with her dog Barley, watch TV with her cat Hops, jog with her pup IPA, travel with her family, and have Monday Night Dinners with her friends! Her favorite thing about the CAC is that it is a place where artist, both young and the young at heart, can express themselves creatively in a supportive community atmosphere! |
